As
microchipping has become more common place and in the case of dogs a legal requirement,
the NZCAC recognised there was a need for a suitable New Zealand based animal repatriation
system. With this in mind and working with
Kiwiwebs Limited, a New Zealand based design, internet and software development
company, they have created the New Zealand Companion Animal Register.

the NZ Companion Animal Register are:
The Register will be managed on a day to day basis by a private company called Animal Register Limited, who have a contract to promote,
market, maintain and develop the Register on behalf of the NZCAC.
All profits from
the Register go back to the NZCAC, who will distribute these amongst various animal
welfare charities as well as using the funds to promote the causes of animal protection
and welfare.
